Pleased to be a part of the Botanica-All Things Plant Life exhibition at Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek, CA. It runs from 7/12 - 9/6. They really do good things there so stop in the next time you're over that way. For example, here's a clip of the Andy Warhol piece Bedford recreated That I saw when I dropped off my pieces. Neat, right?
More about the show...
From 16th Century Flemish painters, to Cézanne and the Post Impressionists, the color and variety found in plant life, as well as the potent symbolism, has made it a popular subject for still-lifes and artist studies. Botanica asks artists to draw on these themes to create artwork that explores how plant life can be represented in a diverse reach of media.
Botanica is an exhibition juried by Ken Harman, Director of Hashimoto Contemporary and Spoke Art, San Francisco, CA and MacKenzie Stevens, Assistant Curator of the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA.
